UKPoints

Available on the AppStore

UKPoints calculates a score for food, given the calorie and fat content, using a reverse engineered approach designed to reproduce algorithms commonly used in the UK , USA, and elsewhere in the world. It can use modern approaches based on Protein, Carbohydrate, Fat and Fibre; and also has methods for calculation based on calories, fat and fibre (as historically used in the USA) , and also for calories and saturated fat (as previously used in the UK, Australia, and elsewhere in the world)

Rather than having calculator keyboard type approach, values are entered through spinning dials – much easier to do in a supermarket with an iPhone in one hand and a shopping trolley in the other.

New in version 3 is a Tracker – so you can keep track of how you’ve used your daily allowance – or earned more food through exercise.

This is a tool for those wanting to lose or maintain weight as part of an organised weight loss or healthy living programme.

Usage is simple. Just dial up the appropriate nutritional contents of an item of food, and UKPoints will tell you the points content.

Press ‘zero’ to return all the dials to zero.

In the unlikely event you run into any calculation errors, please fill in this form.

UKPoints is not endorsed by WeightWatchers or any other weight loss organisation.
