Freecycle is a useful tool for getting rid of things I can’t use any more, but I’m getting more and more fed up with rude illiterates. If you’re asking for my stuff, please at least check your spelling and grammar!

Missing apostrophes, missing capitalisation, and an assumption he can just come pick it up.

I upgraded to Snow Leopard this week, and suddenly the program I’m working on stopped working. Was it the multithreaded code to download images from websites that wasn’t compatible? No – installing Snow Leopard caused Little Snitch to think my program wasn’t allowed to make outbound connections to some servers, but not others! I have no idea why – but it’s fixed now.

For once – not about software.

I’m rather partial to Tilley hats. When you have as little hair as me you need a good hat to keep the rain/sun/wind/whatever away. Tilley’s SPF50 and wind cords make for a great combination. The TH4 I bought 2 years ago developed a floppy brim. A brief email to Tilley enquiring about how it can be stiffened resulted in a suggestion I send the old hat back, and they’d send me a new one. I even got to chose a different model.

Two days after posting the TH4 back, a new LTM6 was mine – along with the old hat back!

Excellent customer service from Tilley Endurables.
