NIHR Paediatric Orthopaedic Stakeholder Workshop

One of my interests is the delivery of research to improve surgical practice. This partly manifests in my involvement in the HipOP trial (and the resulting poster) and the ETTAA cohort study.

Last Friday I (along with other NETSCC staff) facilitated a workshop on Paediatric Orthopaedics, at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, aimed at identifying tractable research questions in this area - both surgical and non-surgical

In the photo above you can see the particpants in full flow - surgeons, physios, nurses and patients - trying to work out what are the most important unknowns affecting NHS practice.

At the end of the day we'd identified 27 possible questions - so now the work begins to refine them, and decide which ones we can take forward in order to improve the patient experience in the NHS.
